Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not is the debut album by English rock band Arctic Monkeys. It was released in the United Kingdom on 23 January 2006 by Domino Records. Three singles were released: "I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor", "When the Sun Goes Down" and "Fake Tales of San Francisco".

The album was recorded in September and October 2005 in Lincolnshire. It was originally scheduled for release on 30 January, but was later moved forward a week. In its first week, Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not sold 360,000 copies, making it the fastest-selling debut of all time in the UK. It also won the Mercury Music Prize and was nominated for a Grammy Award.
